Paris is the capital city of France. It is known worldwide for its monuments and its fashion!
Paris and its region are historically one of the places of greatest importance in French history. Many kings and queens have lived behind the walls of the city, and many great monuments have been built throughout the centuries and can now be visited.
From the Eiffel Tower to the Sacré-Cœur and the Louvre, Paris is a wonderful city to walk through, with wonders at every street’s corner.
1. Reaching Paris!
On arrival at Paris Charles De Gaulle airport, you will be awaited by your private transfer to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, a guide will show you the first of Paris with a 4-hour long panoramic tour of the city!
2. Gourmet food tour in Saint Germain.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a wonderful gourmet guided tour of the Saint Germain district. You will find yourself amidst Paris’ most charming streets, lined with quaint shops, patisseries, bakeries, wine shops and cafés, making the neighborhood an absolute paradise for food and coffee lovers, or even shoppers!
The afternoon and dinner will be off to you: you can enjoy the city, go visit the Louvre or simply enjoy a bit of comfort in your hotel. The night is spent in Paris.
3. Paris cooking class!
Mornings in the French capital are an excellent opportunity to observe the perennial awakening of this vibrant community and explore the many squares, cathedrals and museums scattered around the city. You will waste no time getting acquainted with this stunning city, and your morning will begin with a market visit, followed by a first-hand cooking class.
In the evening, a river cruise on the Seine River will be your opportunity to see the city from a unique vantage point and to appreciate its beautiful architecture and colorful districts.
4. L’Ile de la cité and the Louvre Museum…
On the fourth day of your travel, you will experience your last day in Paris! But there is no shortage of fantastic attractions in the French capital, so you will make your way to the most famous attractions on a private tour, with a knowledgeable guide. In the morning, you will visit the island in the middle of the Seine River to see the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral, which took over 200 years to build. Then, you will get to walk around the Ile de la cité and Sainte Chapelle with a guide. There, you will walk along the riverbanks and through the charming flower market before you reach Sainte Chapelle. You get to choose where you are eating lunch!
In the afternoon, the parade of magnificent artistry will continue when at the Louvre, where you will witness the inspired art of Da Vince, Monet, and others.
5. Lyon
After the breakfast, you will transfer to the train station to get your train to Lyon. The TGV tickets are included, so once you disembark, you will simply transfer to the hotel from the station. Lunch is at leisure, with some time for you to properly get situated in the hotel.
Later, your guide will accompany you to discover the old town of Lyon and its fabulous streets. If you wish to, you will also be able to make a silk workshop, which is an authentic experience from one of Lyon’s specialities. Dinner is up to you, before a good night’s sleep in the city.
6. Northen Rhone Valley discovery and wine tasting!
You get to enjoy your morning in Lyon, before the afternoon. A driver-guide will come to pick you up and you will begin your wine journey in the village of Ampuis, cradle of Côte-Rôtie AOC, and then drive to the village of Condrieu, well known for its white wines. You will see the steep hillsides of one of the oldest vineyards in France. Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu are two wines which tell us the history of their terroir and reveal the personnality of their creators. During a tasting of 4 wines in the middle of the vineyards, you will understand the origin of this exceptionnal wine. You will immediately be seduced by the magnificent view over the Rhône Valley! You will then be heading south to the Condrieu wine area before returning to Lyon and your hotel at the end of the day.
You will get to choose where to eat dinner!
7. Lyon, the Halles Paul Bocuse…
The discovery of the day will be the Halles of Lyon, named after Paul Bocuse, one of France’s greatest chefs. After having worked with him internationally, your guide will reveal the facets and secrets of this unmissable place of Lyon! You will also get to enjoy an exceptional tasting in houses of excellence: a 2-hour visit with several stops in the houses renowned for the gastronomy of Lyon, held by emblematic figures such as Mother Richard, Colette Sibilia and Etienne Boissy (MOF). You will have the chance to discover the history of the unmissable establishments of Lyon and to taste quality products. A real pleasure for both papillae and eyes!
Consequently, the afternoon is free for you to do whatever you want before you travel to another city…
8. From Lyon, to Avignon.
After breakfast, you will transfer to the train station to travel to Avignon, in Provence. After the hour-long ride, you will have time to get to know your hotel and its surroundings as you eat lunch (wherever you want!). In the afternoon, you will follow a guided walking tour of the city to discover the town and its history! Later on, you will get to choose where to eat dinner.
9. Wine tour of Chateauneuf du Pape
In the morning, your driver and guide will meet you at your hotel. Afterward, you will discover the complex and famous terroir of Chateauneuf du Pape, where the wine takes root by making a stop into the vineyards with explanation about the grape varieties, climate, and soils specific to the AOC Chateauneuf du Pape.
Enjoy a private visit of an old Château, understand the wine making process and taste a selection of some of the best wines in the AOC. You will also get to visit a family-owned winery!
In Chateauneuf du Pape, the number of organic wineries has increased substantially in the last few years, thus why you will have the opportunity to visit an organic winery and taste their wines made with a high respect of the environment.
It is suggested to finish the tour by organizing a private wine tasting in an old cave situated in the old Chateauneuf du Pape town. If the cave isn’t available, it will be possible to do an additional wine tasting in a Domaine or a Château. You will spend the night in Avignon.
10. Alpilles and olive oil!
You will start your day with a visit of the Château Estoublon, in the heart of the Baux-de-Provence valley. The château d’Estoublon opens its doors for you! Discover the history and the know-how of Estoublon through a visit of the domain followed by a tasting of its exceptional products worked in organic farming.
A guided tour through the vineyard and olive grove of the domain will follow, before a guided tasting of 4 olive oils and 4 Grand Cru chocolates from the Maison Fouquet.
The afternoon will offer you some time to discover the Baux-de-Provence or Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. You will spend your last night in Avignon.
11. Fly back…
After a last breakfast on French soil, you will be accompanied back to the airport for a final trip before going home!
